Quorum

The power a vote needs, and the rejection quorum.

A quorum is the voting power a proposal needs before its result counts. A space sets it as an amount of power, in its token: for example 500,000.

The default quorum

Every vote counts toward it: For, Against and Abstain alike. A basic proposal passes when the quorum is reached and For beats Against. A proposal that closes below its quorum reads Rejected · quorum not reached.

The rejection quorum

A rejection quorum counts only the Against votes. The proposal passes unless enough power votes against it: when Against reaches the quorum, it is rejected.

Spaces use it for routine decisions that should go through unless people object.

Where you see it

Each proposal shows its quorum: the power counted so far, the amount needed, and whether it is reached. A space without a quorum shows none.

Set it in Settings under Voting, with its type.
